Testimonial

"Hi there, I just wanted to email you to say thanks for my necklace, as a birthday present I didn't know what quite to expect, BUT, it is much better than I ever anticipated and have received several comments on it (even the first hour I had it on!) I am so pleased to have this 'everlasting' print of my baby boys finger and wearing it so close to my heart! I have passed your details onto several friends, who I hope get in touch to get their very own special casting made too. Many many thanks to you again, and I will definitely be using you again for any other children we have."

Cookies & Privacy Policy

Everlasting Castings Limited is committed to your right to privacy. The following Cookies and Privacy Policy statement describes how we will use and safeguard the information you provide to us either directly or through our website.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file, typically of letters and numbers, downloaded onto a computer or mobile device when the user accesses certain websites. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit. Any website other than the one that set up the cookie cannot read the cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.

Technical Jargon - Types of cookies

Cookies can expire at the end of a browser session (from when a user opens the browser window to when they exit the browser) or they can be stored for longer.

Session cookies – allow websites to link the actions of a user during a browser session. They may be used for a variety of purposes such as remembering what a user has put in their shopping basket as they browse around a site. These session cookies expire after a browser session so would not be stored longer term. For this reason session cookies may sometimes be considered less privacy intrusive than persistent cookies.

Persistent cookies – are stored on a users’ device in between browser sessions which allows the preferences or actions of the user across a site to be remembered. Persistent cookies may be used for a variety of purposes including remembering users’ preferences and choices when using a site or to target advertising.

First and third party cookies – Whether a cookie is ‘first’ or ‘third’ party refers to the website or domain placing the cookie. First party cookies in basic terms are cookies set by a website visited by the user - the website displayed in the URL window. Third party cookies are cookies that are set by a domain other than the one being visited by the user. If a user visits a website and a separate company sets a cookie through that website this would be a third party cookie.

How does Everlasting Castings use cookies?

Our website is does not create cookies itself for any purpose and we only use two other third party companies who use cookies on our behalf.

Google Analytics
When you browse from page to page on our website the widely-used third party, Google Analytics gather data for us via cookies based on your IP address. This provides us with information such as how long customers stay on a page or how many unique visitors we have had. The data is not personally identifiable to you as only the IP address of the PC or mobile is used. We find this data very useful to understand such things as seasonal fluctuations, time spent browsing our site and which pages are most popular. We use the data to improve our website and ultimately, your customer experience.
For more info see Cookies and Google Analytics

Shopping Cart
The only other cookies you will come across are in our shopping cart. These cookies are strictly necessary for the smooth running of the cart, for example, remembering what you have added to the cart whilst you are browsing from page to page. Items added to the cart will be stored in a session cookie which is only resident temporarily in your computer memory and not written to your hard disk. It expires when you close your browser (not just the window/tab). If you check the box “Remember my name and address for my future purchases" your name and address would be stored in a persistent cookie and used to pre-fill your name and address boxes in the cart on subsequent visits, up to 90 days later. If you do not want this to happen then please do not check the box.

Blocking cookies

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies. For example:
  • in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking "Tools", "Internet Options", "Privacy", and selecting "Block all cookies" using the sliding selector
  • in Firefox you can block all cookies by clicking "Tools", "Options", and un-checking "Accept cookies from sites" in the "Privacy" box.

Blocking all cookies will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites. If you block cookies, you will not be able to use the shopping cart on this website.

Deleting cookies

You can also delete cookies already stored on your computer:
  • in Internet Explorer, you must manually delete cookie files
  • in Firefox, you can delete cookies by, first ensuring that cookies are to be deleted when you "clear private data" (this setting can b e changed by clicking "Tools", "Options" and "Settings" in the "Private Data" box) and then clicking "Clear private data" in the "Tools" menu.

Obviously, doing this may have a negative impact on the usability of many websites.
