Satisfied Customer
Thanks so much for the excellent customer service we received during the order process. I've never before encountered a company that put so much effort into checking (and even re-checking !) the fine details, to ensure that everything was just as we wanted.
If only all people in all companies were as pleasant and professional to deal with as yourself. From start to finish it felt like we were dealing with a friend - nothing ever seemed to be any trouble.

Baby Casting Advice
How to make the perfect cast of your baby's hand or foot
Mix the impression powder 1. Mix the impression powder (also called alginate) with water and put the mixture into a plastic bag. Measure your amount carefully as this can seriously affect your results. The impression powder is non-toxic and biodegradeable, so is totally safe to use on the skin. Its more common use is in dentistry and it has been thoroughly tested by this industry. We have all the relevant health & safety data available on request.
Squeeze the impression mixture around the hand/foot 2. Push your baby's hand or foot into the impression material and squeeze it around the foot/hand & wait until it has set. It only takes 2 minutes from mixing to setting! The mould can then be gently pulled away from the limb. The time taken for the mould to set varies with temperature of the air and the water as well as the amount of water added. To extend the moulding time you can add a little more water. Also, the colder the water the more time you get before the mould sets.

Mix and pour the casting powder into the mould 3. The casting powder can then be mixed and poured into the mould. To avoid bubbles tap the mould on a hard surface to knock them out of the casting mix before it sets. You can also help release bubbles by gently wiggling the bristle end of the paintbrush inside the mould right in the toes but take care not to do any damage!! This problem is particularly bad if you are trying to cast baby hands. You need to give the filled mould a good shake with your hand sealing the open top to try and release as many bubbles caught in the fingers as possible.
Peel away the mould a few hours later 4. Peel away the mould a few hours later and your cast is made! Remember in our 8 cast baby casting kit we provide enough material for at least 8 attempts for a baby under 1 year.

Prepare your finished lifecast for display 5. Prepare your finished lifecast for display by levelling the base using a knife or grater if necessary. Then, allow at least 5 days for your cast to dry out before painting and/or mounting in one of our specially made box frames with sufficient depth to hold the hand/foot casts.
